Term Time Teachers are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children with severe learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. You will be joining a friendly, energetic and creative team.

About the school

This is a specialist SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school based in Crowborough, East Sussex, providing tailored education and support for pupils and students aged 4-19. The Academy caters for a wide range of needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with provision across primary, secondary and sixth form phases.

The school values a nurturing and inclusive environment where every learner is supported to develop independence, confidence and a love of learning. The Academy benefits from regular professional support from speech and language, occupational and physio-therapies, as well as specialist nursing input, to ensure pupils\' holistic development and wellbeing.

Professional Skills & Requirements
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Able to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacher
  • Able to encourage the development of social skills and support students\' individual needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to provide academic and pastoral support
  • Experience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential
