We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to join our Nailsworth team. Our café serves a delicious seasonal menu, and we need someone with an eye for detail to consistently provide great plates of food for our loyal customers. You will have the opportunity to put your stamp on our menu, keeping our exceptional bread at the heart of it. We are passionate about our staff and value work-life balance. Therefore, we won’t require you to work evenings or Sundays.
We need a team player who is keen to engage with customers as well as fellow employees. The shop and café can get lively with takeaway customers and those eating in. Experience working in a busy kitchen is essential, along with excellent time management skills. You will be responsible for the day-to-day ordering of ingredients. High standards of cleanliness and up-to-date food safety knowledge are required.
We strive to be a brilliant place to work. In our last staff survey, 95% of staff reported job satisfaction. Being a certified B Corp reflects our commitment to valuing our staff, supporting our communities, and protecting our planet.
We are a fifth-generation family business baking the finest bread, cakes, and pastries since 1920. Committed to excellence for our people, communities, and environment, we were the first British bakery to become a Certified B Corporation, using our business as a force for good. Our products are enjoyed across the South West and beyond, in farm shops, delis, restaurants, and cafes, working with partners like The National Trust, Boston Tea Party, and Gloucester Services.
Our five shops are community hubs known for excellent customer service, quality bread, tasty coffee, and tempting baked goods. We produce a wide range of artisan sourdoughs, overnight doughs, rolls, and specialty breads, many of which are award-winning. Our confectionery team makes loaf cakes, tray bakes, and pastries.
