Job Overview
This Commercial Procurement Analytics Manager role will support key procurement analytics deliverables across all teams within the Commercial Procurement Services team, as well as supporting initiatives across North‐East London (NEL). The role will assist with the implementation of the BHRUT vision and strategy for Commercial Procurement, as approved by the Trust Board, with a specific focus on supporting across the entire spectrum of procurement analytics. It will also involve working as part of a team of Procurement analytics staff to work and support collaboratively in a matrix structure on a project and programme specific basis, as directed by the Associate Directors of Commercial Procurement Strategy, Governance and Reporting, Commercial Procurement Supply Chain Operations and Transformation, and the Head of Commercial Procurement Analytics.
Main Duties
- Support with the development of operational and strategic plans that deliver savings and provide improved value for money across all teams within the Commercial Procurement Services team as well as on a Trust‑wide basis.
- Support with the development and ongoing management of the Procurement Analytics Model (PAM) and any other procurement analytics models, databases (e.g. SQL) and programmes; specifically lead within the Commercial Procurement analytics team on PAM enhancements linked to data architecture, analysis and data modelling.
- Support operational delivery and provide capacity in Procurement analytics in relation to the Trust's Automated Inventory Management System (AIMS) Omnicell, finance and procurement system (SBS), Procurement Analytics Model (PAM), procurement catalogue system (GHX) and all other Trust and NEL systems/processes.
- Lead procurement analytics planning across the Commercial Procurement Services function and NEL, linked to data architecture, analysis and data modelling.
- Drive efficiency and improvement outcomes across the Commercial Procurement Services function, using data architecture, analysis and data modelling tools to develop and improve transactional procurement systems and processes and data analytics related procurement activities and outputs.

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Professional qualification in Procurement analytics across the areas of P2P, data analytics, catalogue management or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development across the spectrum of Procurement analytics; specifically P2P, Data and catalogue management.
- Graduate qualification in a Procurement analytics and/or data analytics related field or equivalent experience.
- Working towards full Professional qualification in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).
- Postgraduate / Professional qualification in or equivalent experience working in a data service.
- Working towards or has the DAMA associate level qualification in Data Management.
- SQL related qualification or equivalent significant experience.
Desirable Criteria
- Full Professional qualification in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent full qualification and membership or equivalent experience.
- Postgraduate Procurement analytics related qualification or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- Prince 2 Project Management qualification or equivalent.
- Postgraduate Data Analysis related qualification or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- Systems Informatics postgraduate related qualification or equivalent qualification and/or experience – e.g. SQL and database development.

Essential Criteria
- Good knowledge of best in class procurement analytics and best practice.
- Experience of working in procurement function within an NHS acute organisation.
- Good team working skills, able to effectively work in small and large teams in a matrix structure within the service and organisation‑wide.
- Experience of supporting risk management and risk mitigation plans relating to Procurement analytics across P2P, transactional procurement, procurement data analytics and catalogue management.
- Strong experience of working across Procurement analytics, P2P, procurement information, procurement reporting, procurement data analytics and catalogue management services.
- Experience persuading and influencing operational stakeholders and peers.
- Proven experience of capability to support planning over short, medium and long‑term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
- Experience of supporting the management of change across the spectrum of Procurement analytics, P2P, procurement information, procurement reporting, procurement data analytics and catalogue management services.

- Data analytics skills linked to Procurement analytics management and procurement.
- Operational planning, implementation and management skills, with the ability to think analytically and also creatively and laterally in respect of resolving data analytics related technical problems.
- Proficient understanding of current trends in procurement P2P, transactional procurement and procurement data analytics solutions and products appropriate to the NHS, and their use in the delivery of commercial procurement outcomes.
- Good understanding of business processes, systems and data analysis techniques.
- Good understanding of using contract management systems, electronic catalogue management systems (e.g. GHX), procurement sourcing systems (e.g. Due North) and finance and procurement systems; in particular SBS.
- Good understanding of developing and using procurement data dashboards and data analytics tools such as Power BI and CliqView.
- Strong skills in data analysis, interrogation and reporting of key data sets for stakeholders; in particular the ability to manipulate complex data to help inform operational outputs and key decisions.
- Ability to define and deliver procurement operational systems and process solutions, analysing and developing requirements in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Able to develop and gain agreement on new methods of operation where peer group may have alternative views.
- Good level of IT skills and excellent working knowledge of various MS packages.
