The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will take a significant role in shaping and optimizing the company's fixed asset processes. This role focuses on maintaining accurate asset records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights into asset management and capital expenditures. • Oversee and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring the accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
• Calculate, record, and monitor fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS, IRC, other government governance).
• Conduct regular reconciliations of fixed asset accounts with the general ledger to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• Lead the preparation of detailed fixed asset reports for financial statement disclosures, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to track and validate physical assets, ensuring alignment between financial records and physical inventory.
• Analyze and report on capital expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
• Manage compliance with regulatory requirements related to fixed assets, including tax reporting and audits.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors regarding fixed asset-related inquiries and documentation.
• Act as primary point of contact for tax team regarding fixed assets
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance fixed asset accounting and reporting processes.
• Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and adopts efficient methods.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed, fostering professional growth within the team.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on fixed assets or related areas.
• Advanced understanding of fixed asset accounting principles, including capitalization, depreciation, and impairment analysis.
• Strong experience with ERP systems and fixed asset modules; proficiency in financial software and MS Excel is essential.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial data management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Ethical mindset and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial reporting.
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices is a plus.
