Midland Transport is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to be based out of our Head Office location in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the senior accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions and aiding the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities
Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate revenue recognition and proper expense matching at period-end cut‑off
Ensure timely publication of period‑end financial results for terminal managers and senior leadership
Analyze revenue, expenses and statistical data across operations, comparing results against budgets and prior periods for reasonability
Provide internal and external support to business partners, ensuring effective communication and resolution of financial inquiries
Train, coach, and support members of accounting team
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications
University Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
5‑8 years of relevant work experience
CPA designation or in the final stages of obtaining it
Experience utilizing Cognos, AS400, E1 etc.
Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
Exceptional verbal, written and listening communication skills
Exceptional critical thinking, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team
