Head of Data Science / Engineering Manager

SR2 are partnered with a global chemical and consumer goods company and we are looking for a Head of Data Science.

As a Head of Data Science, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things data. You’ll lead a team of talented data scientists, work closely with business leaders, and help drive the business forward. Whether it’s building predictive models or helping teams make smarter decisions, you’ll play a key role in making sure we’re not just keeping up with the data revolution—but leading it.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Leading & Inspiring: Lead and grow a talented team of data scientists, ensuring they have the tools and environment to thrive.
2. Strategising: Develop and execute our data science strategy, making sure it's aligned with our business goals and is delivering real value.
3. Collaborating: Work closely with other teams to identify opportunities where data can make a difference, from marketing to product development.
4. Communicating: Present insights and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders in a way that’s easy to understand and act on.
5. Managing Projects: Oversee data projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet business needs.

Role Requirements:

1. Experience: You’ve spent 8+ years in the data science world, with at least 3 of those in a leadership role.
2. Expertise: You’re highly skilled in machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics, and you’re comfortable working with Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
3. Vision: You have a knack for seeing the bigger picture and turning complex data into real business value.
4. Leadership: You know how to build, manage, and inspire a team to do their best work.
5. Communication: You can translate data into clear, actionable insights, whether you're talking to data scientists or executives.
