Youth Care Worker (Weekend Evening)
Job summary
A community support organization in Regina is seeking a Youth Care Worker for weekend evenings. The role involves engaging with youth, assisting with daily activities, and providing support with case management. Ideal candidates will demonstrate experience in youth care, crisis response, and medication handling. Responsibilities
- Engage youth and meet day to day needs.
- Assist with case plans and documentation.
- Facilitate resident appointments and transport as needed.
Title : Youth Care Worker (Weekend Evening)
Reports to : Shift Supervisors & Staffing Managers
Based at : Multiple Locations (SCP Shelter and Peer Homes)
Hours : 4pm to 10pm Saturday and Sunday, Flexibility in scheduling required, 3-month probation and review.
Start Date : Immediately
(Outcomes to be monitored quarterly)
- Youth engagement (NHA, trauma informed, strength based)
- 1-on-1’s, help with chores, take youth shopping, teach life skills, meet the day to day needs of SCP youth
- Peer home / shelter duties, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, chores / cleanliness, update communication board, vehicle refuelling & cleaning, refilling bus passes, etc.)
- Schedule and document resident appointments (health, justice, education, etc.)
- Transport / accompany to resident appointments as required
- Communicate with Case Plan Coordinator and team around ongoing youth issues
- Medication administration and handling
- Assisting with programming
- Crisis response and de-escalation
- Mediate conflict between youth
- Assist with implementing youth case plans
- Assist with quarterly completion of case conferences, action plans, eco maps, & CAFAS
- Update Case Management documents, case notes, journals, com logs
- Incident and disclosure reports as required
- Communication with External Supports (MSS, Probation, Child & Youth, etc.)
- Attend staff meetings as may be scheduled
- Review all pertinent information and communications (incident reports, communications logs, case notes, journals, announcements, emails etc.)
- Maintain a working knowledge of current Agency policies, procedures, guidelines, and emergency protocols
- Establish rapport and liaise with representatives of MSS including social workers and management
