Job summary
A leading interior design firm in Calgary is seeking an experienced interior designer. The role requires 2 to 3 years of experience and proficiency in software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp. Designers will prepare comprehensive specifications, create aesthetically pleasing spaces, and supervise staff. Candidates must have a college-level education along with specific design certifications. The position is strictly on-site, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in interior design.
- Certificates required: Professional interior designer, Interior designer technical certificate.
Responsibilities
- Estimate cost of projects.
- Prepare detailed specifications.
- Create interior spaces that reflect clients' needs and tastes.
- Supervise staff or team.
- Read blueprints, schemas, and drawings.
- Advise on selection of colours, finishes, and materials.
- Consult with clients to determine needs and preferences.
- Develop detailed plans and 3-D models.
- Develop plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed drawings.
