Job description
Position Overview

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for youth who require high levels of supervision. The Team Lead will provide coaching and mentoring to staff, manage potential crises, and promote and maintain the overall well-being of the residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision to evening shift staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with staff to provide guidance, support, and feedback.
  • Lead shift change meetings to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Ensure that all youth are safe, supervised, and engaged in appropriate activities.
  • Address behavioral issues and implement intervention strategies as needed.
  • Monitor the emotional and physical well-being of residents, providing support and resources as necessary.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any crisis situations, ensuring the safety and security of all residents and staff.
  • Implement and oversee crisis intervention plans, coordinating with emergency services if required.
  • Document and report all incidents in accordance with Centre for Youth Care protocols.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Serve as a liaison between evening staff, day staff, and management to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Manager regarding shift activities, concerns, and needs.

Education : degree or diploma in a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth in a community-based setting, supervisory experience preferred

Skills : Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Additional Qualifications : Excellent crisis management and problem-solving skills.

Communication : Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Composure : Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.

Documentation : Proficient in documentation and administrative tasks.
