We’re looking for experienced backend engineers to join our Trading Team to build and scale the core systems that power crypto trading at Coinbase. Whether it's Simple Trade for everyday users, Advanced Trade for professionals, Derivatives, or Decentralized (DEX) trading, your role will focus on ensuring a seamless and secure trading experience for all users. You’ll be working at the intersection of crypto, trading infrastructure, and consumer products.

• Power high-performance, highly available systems for global crypto traders.
• Architect systems that are robust and easy to build on, supporting various instruments such as Spot, Futures, Perpetual Futures, and more.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to create an exceptional product experience.
• Translate ideas into high-value features that our customers love.

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on web-scale traffic.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services over time.
• High standards for product excellence, combining customer focus with comprehensive observability.
• A collaborative mindset, empowering your team and continuously learning from peers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices.

• Experience building active trading systems or other high-availability financial systems.
• Active involvement in trading crypto or other financial instruments.
• Experience with rapid growth in a company (e.g., transitioning from startup to mid-size).
• Experience upgrading legacy systems or re-architecting next-generation versions of existing systems.
• Familiarity with Golang, MongoDB, Redis.
• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity.

Salary Range: $154,000 CAD (Target annual salary)

Includes: Base salary + target bonus + target equity + benefits (medical, dental, vision).
