Position Specification

Jonas Software – CORA is recruiting for an entry-level business development role within its M&A deal origination team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the M&A deal origination process to aid in the generation of acquisition opportunities globally. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, driven, focused and dynamic individual with an aptitude for effective CRM database and company research skills. This position requires a confident, organized, and business-minded person who can be an integral part of a fast-moving M&A team. Reporting directly to the Director on the team, this role offers exposure to M&A deal origination from the ground up at one of the largest and most successful software acquirers in the world while giving you a chance to impact its growth directly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct industry and competitive research of potential acquisition targets – identify vertical market software businesses that meet our strategic criteria and specific metrics
  • Research and add new acquisition targets and relevant M&A decision making contacts to the database
  • Assist with various database-related initiatives: analyze and manage the existing database of pre-existing prospects to identify potential targets as per various strategic projects; perform various data analyses
  • Execute individual outreach efforts via email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Support the team with the pipeline
  • Support with various other ad-hoc initiatives
Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/finance, or a related field

Experience

  • An adaptable and responsible graduate seeking an entry-level position and a long-term career in a M&A business development role
  • Internship, co-op or summer work experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior M&A, PE, VC, or Corporate Development experience is an asset

Technical Skills

  • Prior experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce is a plus)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
