Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100 / 500 / 1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada / US. We are currently searching for an Accountant for our Accounting & Tax services client in Cayuga, ON.

Type: Fulltime, Perm

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 base depending on overall experience + 2 weeks paid vacation + stat holidays + 6 sick days

Location: Onsite at office in Cayuga, ON, Canada

Our client is a professional accounting firm located in Cayuga, Ontario. They provide a full range of services including bookkeeping, financial reporting, corporate tax preparation, and administrative support for a globally operated client base. Our fast-paced and supportive work environment is dedicated to delivering accurate, timely, and compassionate service.

We are currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideally suited for a detail-oriented professional with a solid background in bookkeeping, accounting, and corporate tax preparation. The position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional extended hours during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with corporate year-end processes and working papers for tax filings.
  • Support preparation of T2 corporate tax returns and other government filings.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants and team members on client files.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in accounting processes and client service delivery.
  • Stay current with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations in Ontario and Canada.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience preparing corporate year-end financials and tax returns.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop (experience with other accounting software is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
