The Opportunity: The OH&S Coordinator champions and develops all aspects of organizational health & safety initiatives and will be a change agent in facilitating and maintaining a strong health and safety culture and climate across CSFS. Facilitate continuous improvement by building upon CSFS’s safety management system. Adopting sound safety and loss management principles involves recommending and developing safety standards and best practices to ensure the safety program complies with CSFS safety policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and regulations, with a focus on eliminating incidents and injuries.
- Supports the development and implementation of CSFS’s Safety Management System
- Act as a resource providing advice and assistance to program managers on OH&S issues
- Plan, develop, and implement Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Oversees WorkSafeBC processes by submitting incident investigation reports and injury claims management

Role
What You Will Bring to The Role:
- Knowledge of First Nations Culture and traditions (specifically Carrier and Sekani)
- Extensive knowledge of safety and loss management principles and best practices
- Experience working with MS Office and HRMI systems; able to prepare spreadsheets and operate word processing programs

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $38.5876 to $49.9719 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
