We are looking for a talented Senior Architect to architect, design, develop, and support new client TV applications on multiple device platforms while establishing the technical foundation and strategic direction that enables scalable, maintainable, and innovative solutions.

• Strategic Technical Leadership: create industry-leading end-to-end customer experiences for next-gen video and digital home solutions, incorporating superior performance, reliability and flexibility by design.
• Cross-Platform Innovation: Establish unified architectural patterns and frameworks that enable consistent experiences across Web, Smart TV, Android TV, and Apple platforms while optimizing for each platform's unique capabilities.
• Team Enablement: Contribute to an inclusive, knowledgeable and highly motivated team, leveraging Agile to frequently deliver valuable software to market while providing architectural guidance that accelerates development velocity
• DevOps Excellence: Help drive a high-performance DevOps culture focused on end to end responsibility, collaboration, operational visibility and continuous improvement - delivering on critical metrics and exceeding customer expectations.
• Technical Authority: Become a go-to expert on the code components under your responsibility and how they fit into the overall architecture, promoting a seamless solution.

Here’s how

The Senior Client Architect has a combination of client development skills, application architecture experience, and the ability to simplify and document complex solutions to guide client development teams with application development, delivery and support.

• Lead the architecture, development and maintenance of our next generation solutions on Web, Smart TV, Android TV and Apple device platforms.
• Translate business requirements into cost effective technical solutions.
• Provide direction for the integration of third-party cloud components and APIs.
• Enforce standards and best practices for client architecture and development.
• Act as adviser on Web, Smart TV, Android TV and Apple platforms client development to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage technical risk: Understand and articulate the impact of architecture decisions.
• Identify opportunities for architectural improvements considering the current industry landscape.
• Have a hands-on and mindful approach to complex challenges.
• Research new trends and technologies on Web, Smart TV, Android TV, Apple, OTT and video streaming.
• Mentor and train developers.

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle with these skills:

• 7+ years experience architecting, designing and developing client applications for multiple device platforms, including Web, Smart TV, Android TV, and Apple device platforms.
• Strong background on software architecture, software design, cloud, and implementation of carrier grade client solutions.
• Ability to design, build and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with TV (IPTV / OTT), DRM technologies, and video analytics.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or other multiplatform development technologies.
• Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP).
• Experience with streaming video technologies (DASH, HLS) and video players.
• Experience with leading third party analytics tools and services.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical details in a business context.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Great to Have:

• Experience developing and optimizing applications on resource-constrained devices.
• Experience with leading teams of external development resources.
• Experience with Android TV middleware on set-top boxes.
• Presentation skills to business and technical audiences.

Salary Range: $116,000-$174,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
