The Family Counselor provides system-based assessment and treatment, case management, and coordination of therapeutic services for program clients and their families within the Children's Day Treatment Program. The program serves children with significant and complex mental health issues and co-morbid conditions. The Family Counselor collaborates with an interdisciplinary team of health professionals and is required to carry an advanced clinical caseload, providing family and individual assessment and treatment, group therapy, milieu management, and crisis intervention. Flexibility is essential to practice within an evolving continuum of care. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also offer clinical consultation with other programs or community resources and act as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. Collaboration with healthcare providers and community service providers is vital to ensure a continuum of care.

Completion of master's degree in a health-related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary mental health team. Experience working with children and adolescents with mental illness.

Completion of Brain Story Certification preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving Training preferred. Suicide Risk Assessment training.
