Overview

Our client in Toronto is seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the delivery of sewer & water, earthworks, and other heavy civil construction projects across the GTA. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, execution, and completion while ensuring quality, safety, and financial targets are consistently achieved. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge, client engagement skills, and the ability to manage diverse project teams across multiple scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of civil infrastructure projects, including sewer & water installations, earthworks, roadworks, utilities, and related scopes.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee field operations in collaboration with site superintendents and foremen.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and municipal authorities to maintain effective communication and project alignment.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasting, and change order management to ensure financial accountability.
  • Enforce quality control, safety compliance, and environmental standards across all project activities.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues proactively, and escalate when necessary.
  • Mentor and support project staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of project management experience in civil infrastructure, with a strong focus on sewer & water, earthworks, and utility construction.
  • Experience in P3 projects is an asset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from tender through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software, MS Office Suite, and scheduling tools.
  • PMP designation or P.Eng. is considered an asset.
