Sanitation Associate - (Guelph - RGU) $3,000 Sign-On Bonus
Shift details:
First 6 weeks: Monday-Friday, 6am - 4pm.
Afterwards: Wednesday-Saturday, 6am - 2pm.
Sign-On Bonus: $3000
Job Purpose/Overview:
- Member of the Sanitation Team
- Responsible for cleaning all areas of the site as per the Master Sanitation Schedule
- Completing cleaning records
- Maintaining high cleanliness standards for food safety and 5S
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the factory site, equipment, and facilities
- Ensuring compliance with cleaning standards and standards like ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and Mars QMP
Key Responsibilities:
Safety
- Wear PPE according to OHSA/RC requirements
- Enforce safety rules and policies
- Stop work if safety or environmental rules are violated
Environment
- Apply ISO 14001 procedures
- Own environmental responsibilities as per ENV-REF-002
Quality & Food Safety
- Apply ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, Mars standards
- Support HACCP program
- Follow GMP-GHP
- Report deviations and pest activity
- Perform quality control tests
Human Resources
- Attend training and train others
Management & Responsibilities
- Suggest improvements
- Manage cleaning staff and materials
- Follow work instructions
- Report leaks/spills
Cleanliness & Tidiness
- Perform Housekeeping Checks and operational cleaning
Communication & Information
- Provide documentation as needed
Context and Scope:
Maintaining cleanliness is critical for factory success and brand reputation. This role is vital within the Sanitation team and collaborates with other functions.
Physical requirements: Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, working in hot environments and confined spaces.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience in food/feed manufacturing sanitation
- Knowledge of GHP/GMP, 5S; microbiology is a plus
- Teamwork and good communication skills
