A not-for-profit organization in the Vancouver area seeks a Manager of Marketing and Communications. This role focuses on advancing public awareness and managing community outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate has over 5 years experience, a background in communications, and strong organizational skills. The position allows for hybrid work arrangements and is vital for promoting recycling efforts across BC and SK.

Who We Are
Recycle BC and SK Recycles are not-for-profit organizations managing residential packaging and paper recycling programs in British Columbia and Saskatchewan under extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations.
Recycle BC serves over two million households across 195+ communities in BC, partnering with local governments, First Nations, and private companies to collect and manage more than 200,000 tonnes of material annually. Funded by the businesses that supply packaging and paper to BC residents, Recycle BC shifts recycling costs away from homeowners.
SK Recycles supports Saskatchewan businesses in meeting regulatory obligations for household packaging and paper recycling. The organization partners with local governments, First Nations, and Métis communities, and industry stakeholders, to ensure materials are collected, sorted, and responsibly managed and recycled. Through education and support, SK Recycles works to increase awareness and improve recycling accessibility across the province.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Manager, Marketing and Communications plays a pivotal role in advancing public awareness, operational alignment and community outreach for Recycle BC and SK Recycles. This position leads the development and delivery of operational communications, including program updates, service transitions to Recycle BC and SK Recycles, new organizational initiatives and the production of key materials such as annual recycling guides.
The Manager provides strategic oversight of the Community Events Team, ensuring high quality engagement through well-executed, branded outreach events. They also cultivate and manage strategic partnerships and sponsorships to enhance public education efforts and build brand awareness. The Manager oversees digital and social marketing and communications. Internally, the role ensures staff are well-informed and aligned through clear and timely communications, while also collaborating with operations teams to identify service challenges and translate them into targeted communications strategies.
