Role: Staff Accountant

Type: 3 month contract - possible conversion to FTE

Location: Onsite 5x/week in Brantford, ON

Rate: $40-$50/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Responsible for the completion of daily, monthly and annual accounting activities as assigned by the Controller, including, but not limited to the following activities:

1. Execute month-end closing process on 4-4-5 weekly schedule
2. Prepare and record journal entries
3. Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank statement reconciliations
4. Prepare, review and finalize financial results, including reconciliation to HFM (consolidation system)
5. Prepare annual budget schedules as assigned by the Controller
6. Prepare and present monthly variance analyses with meaningful commentary
7. Prepare and file HST/GST and Sales & Use tax
8. Prepare support and analysis for quarterly tax provision
9. Record intercompany transactions and reconcile balances
10. Support internal and external audits by facilitating the provision of data to auditors and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• 4+ years of full cycle accounting experience, including finalization of financial statements
• Experience with financial module systems and general ledger systems
• Excellent communication skills

• CPA or other designations
• Previous experience in manufacturing
• Experience with SOX controls, auditing processes
