Group Disability is seeking an action-oriented individual with a strong team spirit, client-oriented service skills, high autonomy, and problem-solving abilities to join its fast-paced team as a Short Term Disability (STD) Intake Case Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing straightforward STD claims from intake to resolution.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong service relationships with plan members, plan sponsors, healthcare providers, and internal partners.
- Identify and efficiently gather outstanding claims assessment information.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness in all tasks.
- Develop strong written (emails, formal letters) and telephone communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Manage time effectively and stay organized.
- Review incoming STD claim applications against established criteria.
- Follow up to gather outstanding information.
- Maintain frequent contact via email and telephone with plan members, sponsors, and healthcare providers.
- Triaging claims through contractual, medical, functional, and vocational analysis.
- Approve, pay, and manage STD claims following established processes.
- Transfer claims to higher levels when necessary.
- Maintain productive relationships with internal partners to meet client service goals.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize tasks to meet tight turnaround times.
Required Qualifications:
- Bilingual (French & English) is required to support clients across jurisdictions outside Quebec.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high workloads and short turnaround times.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Excellent professional relationship management and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Intermediate skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Previous experience with Group Disability Claims is an asset.
