What You’ll Do:
Job Summary: As the GM for York and Refine, you will be the overall leader responsible for ensuring that centrally run programs and services are executed exceptionally at ground level and tailored to local market needs to maximize site potential. You will ensure execution and compliance with brand and hospitality standards, provide onsite presence to deliver quality service, support client escalations, and advocate for localized needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- York Site Leadership: Ensure that centrally run programs and services are executed exceptionally at ground level and tailored to local market needs to maximize site potential. Ensure execution and compliance with brand and hospitality standards. Provide onsite presence to deliver quality service, support client escalations, and advocate for localized needs.
- Refine Leadership: Scale Refine services (aesthetic, cosmetic dermatology, retail products) across all sites in the Medcan network. Driving new business development, ensuring exceptional service support, to delight clients and drive team engagement.
- Service Excellence: Ensure excellent service and personalized hospitality across all areas within the 150 York (AHA, Membership, Restore, Refine, etc.).
- Team Connectivity: Attend daily huddles and team meetings to ensure connectivity across the teams supporting 150 York. Influence teams and leadership to localized and tailor services to optimize performance
- Drive Revenue and Profitability: Drive revenue by working with sales teams and ensuring on-site employees are motivated, trained, and incentivized. Help drive client lifetime value by securing new clients for Medcan, cross-selling to existing clients, and ensuring client retention. Focus on process development, training, and optimizing clinic flows.
- Strategic Growth and Financial Management: Develop and execute new strategies under the guidance of the COO to succeed in the healthcare market. Facilitate financial management, including site-level P&L oversight (via a matrixed structure in conjunction with Product), budgeting, and forecasting.
- Performance Updates: Present updates on clinic performance and initiatives to senior leaders.
- Client Experience: Responsible for client experience across 150 York: personalize the experience, ensure effortless flow, and create a relaxing and inspiring environment. Maximize client satisfaction, mining and applying actionable insights from ongoing client experience measurement (e.g., NPS and Client Satisfaction surveys).
- Brand Standards: Ensure alignment and coordination with brand standards Maintenance Management: Actively manage maintenance needs and adherence standards.
- Lounge Areas: Monitor and ensure lounge/waiting areas provide the best client experience.
- In-Clinic Experience: Partner with other Medcan Site leaders to deliver a consistent yet localized and brand appropriate desired in-clinic experience
- People Leadership: Lead a team of direct reports, ensuring they meet performance goals. Including:
- Refine Operations: Lead Refine team to support reception, flow, clinical and administrative operations across all sites
- 150 York Facilities Team: Lead facilities team for optimal client experience support, back-office and in-clinic experience, and Corp SG&A support needs.
- 150 York Reception Support: Manage reception team to ensure a personalized and optimal welcome and flow experience throughout the day. Support parking, check-in, lounge waiting/support, and departure flow.
- Workplace Environment (both Clinic and SG&A): Support in-clinic teams and corporate SG&A to ensure an optimal workplace environment.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience of proven success in a leadership role within a clinical or healthcare setting, ideally a multi-disciplinary private clinic or health unit.
- Some experience in the provision of high-end wellbeing services with a deep focus on client service is an asset.
- Experience in sales, operations, and/or hospitality service is valuable.
- Good collaborator and able to work with teams cross-functionally to influence decisions.
- Analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex functions) and Salesforce is beneficial
- Executive presence to be client-facing for escalations and/or internal leadership updates for teams and executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, or a similar field; MBA is an asset.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
This is a full-time and on-site position working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday – Saturday (8 AM - 5 PM). Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!
