Descripción del empleo

Position: Site Manager (Vehicles, Equipment, Maintenance + Construction)

Department: JUMP! Summer Programs

Location: 100 Mile House, British Columbia

Reports To: Program Director, J! Canada

Contract Term: Full-Time (May), Part-Time (June-August)

Eligibility: Canadian citizenship is strongly preferred.

OUR VISION FOR THIS ROLE:

JUMP! Canada is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Manager to oversee all aspects of our camp infrastructure, including vehicles, equipment, maintenance, construction projects, and BCCA compliance. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our summer programs by maintaining a safe, reliable, and well-equipped site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement comprehensive rat-proofing measures across all buildings.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and repairs for winter-related damages.
  • Complete urgent repairs to the staff cabin roof to ensure staff can safely reside in their quarters during inclement weather.
  • Remove bat infestation from student cabins, including necessary structural modifications to prevent future nesting.
  • Install window screens in all areas to mitigate mosquito infestations.
  • Address critical issues with the Rec Hall, including waterproofing and comprehensive rat-proofing, to restore its functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities management role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance and repair (vehicles, generators, plumbing).
  • Excellent organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safety protocols in a camp setting.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Working knowledge of BCCA Accreditation standards a plus.
  • Experience with solar power systems and internet installation preferred.

  • Remote Base Camp Living: As a program staff member, you will live and work on-site at our beautiful, remote base camp, located 20 kilometers west of 100 Mile House in the Cariboo region.

  • Sign a declaration of any criminal convictions.
  • Provide three professional references who have known you for at least two years.
  • Undergo a thorough background check from your home country or most recent country of residence.
