Description

User support technicians provide first-line technical support to users facing issues with hardware, software, and communications systems. They are employed by hardware manufacturers, software developers, call centers, IT departments, independent support companies, or may be self-employed.

Job Duties
  • Prepare reports, manuals, and documentation on software status, operation, and maintenance.
  • Handle user queries and issues, ensuring they are captured, validated, and triaged.
  • Communicate effectively with users through appropriate channels.
  • Improve support processes through analysis, automation, training, and organizational changes.
  • Identify, diagnose, and categorize issues, providing solutions.
  • Advise users on actions and monitor issues from start to resolution.
  • Serve as the routine contact point for support requests.
  • Respond to service requests, providing information and solutions.
  • Assist in developing support standards and documentation.
  • Guide users through software functions and backend operations.
  • Collaborate with development teams on upgrades and updates based on customer feedback.
  • Respond quickly to helpdesk requests and create training materials with screenshots.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and systems issues.
  • Document procedures and maintain system performance.
  • Work with clients to resolve problems and promote self-sufficiency.
  • Run diagnostics, clean systems, and train new staff.
  • Configure network and security settings, ensuring daily service delivery.
