Job summary
A logistics company in Calgary is seeking a dedicated truck driver to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving trucks, planning routes, and ensuring the safe transport of goods. Candidates must have a valid Class 1 or A driver's license and Air Brakes Endorsement. This permanent position requires attention to detail and the ability to handle heavy loads, with a work schedule of 35 to 40 hours per week.

- Ability to handle heavy loads.
Responsibilities
- Drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Plan routes to minimize fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods safely.

- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Air Brakes Endorsement
