Job summary
A leading safety management firm in Vancouver seeks an experienced professional to promote a cohesive safety and wellness culture. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in management and a background in developing safety programs. Responsibilities include compliance oversight and collaboration across departments to improve workplace safety practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in a management related position.
- Demonstrated experience conducting analysis and formulating recommendations.
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Promote a cohesive safety and wellness culture.
- Provide reliable health and safety advice to company leaders.
- Oversee workplace health & safety committees.
Skills
Education
- Promote a comprehensive, cohesive, and impactful safety and wellness culture.
- Be the safety expert, providing accurate and reliable health and safety advice and support to our people leaders.
- Understand required provincial legislation and ensure safety compliance throughout the company.
- Research and recommend creative and innovative approaches to accident / injury prevention, education, and overall safety culture.
- Identify and implement new or modified safety practices, including policies, procedures, hazard analysis, and training.
- Collaborate with HR, training, facilities, and operations to improve safety practices and culture.
- Oversee local / branch workplace health & safety committees and audit programs in collaboration with people leaders and HR Business Partners, facilitate return to work and / or modified duties programs.
- 5+ years’ experience in a management related position.
- Post-Secondary Education in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or Safety preferred.
- CRSP designation is considered a strong asset.
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated experience conducting analysis, formulating recommendations, and facilitating implementation.
- Effective communicator, including the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and conduct training.
