Job summary

A leading laboratory services provider in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a qualified individual for a laboratory monitoring role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing sample progression, maintaining QA/QC data, and ensuring accuracy in reports. Candidates should possess a Technical Diploma or equivalent experience in Science, strong organizational skills, and be available on weekends. This position involves coordinating between laboratory operations and client services and requires good problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma/degree in Science or equivalent experience is required.
  • Ability to problem solve, coach, and organize.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job description
What you will be doing:
  • Monitor the progression of samples through the lab and address concerns as they arise
  • Liaise between Laboratory and Client Services group
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintenance of QA/QC data
  • Responsible for accurately translating laboratory results into usable results for the client using provided templates
  • Responsible for proof-reading own reports to ensure accuracy
  • Responsible for data validation during the data entry process
  • Report, review and authorize test results, as required
  • Responsible for promoting responsible and ethical work practices in the laboratory
  • Ensure laboratory turnaround times are being met
What you bring to the table:
  • Technical Diploma/degree in Science required or equivalent experience
  • Ability to problem solve, coach, and organize Knowledge of full laboratory processes
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skill
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment
