Position Details
Provide technology support for Dhillon School of Business (DSB) faculty, staff, and students across both campuses. Ensure effective collaboration with central IT services, making informed decisions and offering innovative solutions to improve user experience. Address complex problems with creative and effective solutions.
Setup of new computers. This may involve the installation of software or imaging of new computers. This will also include scheduling with end users transferring information from the old to new machines and re-imaging of old hardware. Minor hardware support which may include troubleshooting and replacement of computer hardware.
Support the delivery of specialty IT systems such as the:
Create and provide documentation on “How To” processes. This may include both written documentation, as well as creating short videos. This may include example topics such as:
May assist in the setup of a HyFlex Classroom.
Salary
$21.44 per hour.
Position Qualifications
The applicant must be located in Lethbridge and currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, ideally in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
This position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program. As such, applicants must meet the Canada Summer Jobs requirements including: being no older than 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person whom refugee protection has been conferred; and have a valid social insurance number and legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must have completed at least one year of study with satisfactory academic performance.
A foundational understanding of computer hardware/systems, software installation, software tools and troubleshooting methods is required. Specific experience with tools commonly used in the department (e.g., Microsoft 365, web development platforms, or database management systems) is an asset.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse user groups and documenting processes effectively.
