Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in mining construction management, excellent leadership, and project oversight skills. Competitive compensation and working conditions are provided.
Kinross Gold Corporation is a major gold producer with operating mines in North & South America and West Africa, and a number of significant project and exploration sites worldwide. The corporation’s head office is located in downtown Toronto and provides support to all sites. Corporate support functions include Technical Services, Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT and Investor Relations and Environmental & Permitting.
In March 2022 Kinross acquired Great Bear Resources and its flagship Great Bear project (GBR), located near Red Lake, Ontario. In early 2025, the project moved into the detailed engineering and major equipment procurement phase. The Preliminary Economic Assessment released in September 2024 indicated a total initial project capital of $1.4B USD.
Reporting to the VP & Project Director, the Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the completion of the Advanced Exploration construction activities and for the preparation and execution of all construction activities for the Great Bear Main Project safely, on time, and on budget. The Project will be executed using an Owner’s Project Team model. The incumbent will work closely and effectively with all GBR departments, including Health and Safety, Environment, External Affairs, Project Controls, Engineering, and Operations, to ensure that the overall Project objectives are met. It is expected that this position will directly manage a team of approximately 60 people, who will oversee approximately 40 - 50 construction contracts during the Main Project construction phase.
This position is initially based out of Toronto, with periodic rotations to site. Full site rotations are expected to begin in Q2 2027.
