Marketing and Communications are vital to enhancing the profile of Banff Centre. The role is crucial for engaging artists, faculty, and audiences, ensuring the Centre’s global identity and financial success. The department aims to position Banff Centre as Canada’s leading arts and leadership training institute and one of the most important worldwide.
The Director of Marketing oversees strategic marketing initiatives, guiding the team and working closely with Communications to execute campaigns that attract quality participants, build audiences, and engage stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally. The role involves collaboration with various departments to maximize community engagement and revenue.
This position manages the marketing team, develops creative campaigns supporting our programs, festivals, events, exhibitions, and operational activities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Marketing and Communication, key accountabilities include:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of marketing and management experience; 2+ years at the director level preferred.
- Experience in arts, culture, or post-secondary sectors is an asset.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, project management, and communication skills.
- Appreciation for arts, education, and mountain culture, with storytelling ability through digital means.
- Full-time, salaried position with a 6-month probation period.
- Salary range: $82,455 - $122,451, with benefits including paid vacation, health benefits, pension, housing options, professional development, and more.
