Job description

We’re looking for a strategic and people-focused HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our growing teams in Canada. This isn’t a reactive HR role - it’s a seat-at-the-table opportunity for someone who loves solving people challenges, shaping culture, and partnering with leaders to build high-performing teams.

You’ll work closely with department heads, managers, and employees across all levels to drive engagement, ensure organizational alignment, and support business objectives with smart, scalable HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, offering guidance on workforce planning, team structure, organizational effectiveness, and talent strategy.
  • Coach managers on leadership, performance, communication, and employee development.
  • Use data and insight to inform recommendations, anticipate challenges, and support decision‑making.
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers in Toronto and additional Canadian provinces as needed.
  • Manage employee relations matters with fairness, clarity, and discretion, ensuring consistency and compliance with Canadian employment law.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance engagement, team health, and overall employee experience.
Talent Development & Performance
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, development planning, and calibrations.
  • Partner with leaders to identify high‑potential talent and create growth pathways.
  • Champion learning and development programs that strengthen leadership capability and team performance.
HR Programs & Operations
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, HR Ops, DEI, etc.) to deliver programs and policies consistently across the business.
  • Support compensation planning, benefits discussions, organizational changes, and workforce transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws, health & safety requirements, and internal governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee data, documentation, and reporting.
Change Management
  • Partner on organizational initiatives such as new systems, restructures, policy rollouts, and onboarding programs.
  • Guide teams through change with clarity, communication, and credibility.

5+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role or a related strategic HR function.

Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws (Ontario essential; multi‑province exposure a plus).

Experience supporting leaders in a high‑growth or fast‑paced environment.

Demonstrated success in coaching managers and influencing decision‑making.

Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Comfort working with HR systems (Workday, UKG, SuccessFactors, or similar).

High integrity, sound judgment, and a practical approach to navigating complex issues.
