The Director, Development Services & Projects is responsible for planning, construction, and evaluation of all major capital projects within the portfolio. This role provides expertise and advice, supporting Senior Operating Officers by undertaking long-range planning for major capital needs, advising on design and construction for functionality and cost-effectiveness, and developing detailed cost projections and business cases. The position ensures legislative compliance related to worker and public safety, building and construction codes, municipal and regional by-laws, and environmental impact assessments.

The incumbent is the site authority on construction matters, overseeing project development across all sites, managing contractors to meet quality and contract specifications, and working directly with architects and engineers to ensure quality and functionality in facilities planning. The Director manages contracts and oversees professionals and contractors involved in project delivery, and is responsible for convening and supporting project committees.

Starting salary ranges from $116,591 to $145,739, based on education, training, experience, and comparable positions.

A recognized Degree in Engineering or Architecture, supplemented by advanced project management courses, with five (5) years of progressive post-licensure experience in healthcare construction project management, or ten (10) years in large, complex environments, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
