What this role is all about:

As a Small Business Account Manager (Temporary 1-year), you are a key contributor to the financial success of Beem Credit Union. You actively grow your portfolio through business development initiatives such as campaigns, seminars, and networking with external Centres of Influence. You provide tailored advice in business credit, cash management, investments, and financial planning, while making appropriate referrals to ensure member needs are met. You are entrepreneurial in spirit, results-driven, and focused on acquiring and retaining high-value business members. You also support and coach team members to identify growth opportunities and contribute to the overall success of the Small Business Banking team.

This role will be a 1-year placement based out of the Fort St. John Branch located in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

What you’ll do:

Sales & Business Development
  • Lead initiatives to grow business relationships through campaigns, seminars, and networking.
  • Create and execute business plans to grow your book of business and meet portfolio targets.
  • Identify and acquire members with high investment complexity based on market opportunities.
Member Advice & Relationship Management
  • Deliver comprehensive financial advice across credit, cash management, investments, and planning.
  • Build member confidence by helping them achieve their financial goals.
  • Make strategic referrals to internal partners to ensure holistic member support.
Portfolio Management & Retention
  • Implement retention strategies and value-added activities to deepen member relationships.
  • Promote self-service banking options to improve convenience and efficiency for managed accounts.
  • Deliver proactive service through regular outreach and portfolio reviews.
Collaboration & Team Support
  • Work as part of an integrated multi-channel team to support member needs.
  • Coach and mentor team members to identify and pursue portfolio growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with financial subsidiaries and partners to expand service offerings.
Operational Excellence
  • Identify potential managed small business members in collaboration with the core team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

What will you bring:

  • Business degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in a financial sales and service environment.
  • Preferred experience in writing and adjudicating small business credit.
  • Knowledge of credit policies, lending guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
