Position Overview

Currently, Enercare is seeking an analytical and innovative Business Data Analyst to join its growing corporate finance team. The Business Data Analyst will perform data-driven analysis and provide insights that are critical to informed decisions regarding the management and allocation of financial resources. This role will also provide the opportunity to support other areas of finance by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to uncover valuable insights. You will regularly interact with other stakeholders across the business, including Product and Marketing, Business Development, and Customer Experience and Operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in a data analyst capacity focused on equipping management with analysis that links business performance to financial metrics and cash flow analysis.

Role Responsibilities

Business & Financial Support

  • Use data-driven analysis to understand and explain company-wide financial results with reference to underlying business drivers
  • Leverage analytics to explain performance to key stakeholders and inform future forecasts
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial models
  • Participate in evaluating business needs and identifying opportunities for data-driven improvements

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Assist in gathering, validating, and organizing data from various sources, including Azure SQL databases and Excel
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in business operations
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness in reports and dashboards
  • Develop and maintain SQL and Python automations to support monthly reporting requirements

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Support process improvement initiatives and automation efforts
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards that provide a centralized and real-time view of key financial metrics, streamlining monthly reporting and enhancing decision-making across the organization

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business teams to understand reporting and data needs
  • Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in Python and SQL for data analysis and automation

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker is an asset
  • Working knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases, warehouses, and data lakes in Azure SQL DB
  • Understanding of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts, graphs, Power Query)
  • Ability to interpret financial data to understand and identify trends, assess commercial impacts, and communicate results with reference to broader corporate strategy
