This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.

Job Description

Job Description Summary:

Provide research, evaluation, assessment, operational, reporting and / or analytical support on Technology Controls / Information Security related programs and initiatives. May participate and provide advice / guidance on projects of low to moderate complexity within own area of specialization.

Effectively manage requests from users, managers and other teams in priority and in a timely manner to add, remove, change and manage users, roles and access across a variety of systems including Active Directory, UNIX and Databases.

Key Accountabilities

CUSTOMER

• May provide guidance to partners / stakeholders within defined parameters related to specific Technology Controls / Information Security programs / policies / standards and incidents for own specialized area
• Support project consulting assessment of risk, definition of required controls, appropriateness of implemented control procedures, vulnerability assessments and any other relevant areas
• Contribute to completion of risk and control design assessments for an assigned business application, business portfolio, articulate and document impact of control gaps to the business and the overall Bank
• Participate and/or support development of a security management strategy and framework
• Support technology processes and help implement governance practices to monitor, detect, prevent and react to both current and emerging security threats against TDBG’s business
• Support development of on-going Technology Risk reporting, monitoring key trends and defining metrics to regularly measure control effectiveness for own area
• Work with technology partners / stakeholders and service/platform owners to ensure all technology security components are integrated and any control gaps are addressed.
• Research and investigate regulatory compliance requirements, reporting and questions and support the team in resolving compliance, audit and regulatory issues members
• Participate in computer security incident responses relevant to business (or enterprise wide) and represent respective function and Enterprise position to the business, and business needs to incident response tea

• Contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities for improvement
• Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to technology controls / information security activities
• Influence behavior to reduce risk and foster a strong technology risk management culture throughout the enterprise
• Remain informed of emerging issues, industry trends and/or relevant changes
• Support development and/or implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize security, availability of service, efficiency and effectiveness
• Assess / identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders where required
• May develop / provide / contribute to reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level

• Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines

• Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
• Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program and project managers

BREADTH & DEPTH

• Understand IT Access Management standards and lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of UNIX, Active Directory, Windows and Database security controls.
• Work will be required in off peak hours, with on-call on a rotational basis, eligible for OT payment and on-call support
• Basic working knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices
• Supports on a diverse range of tasks including research and analysis
• Sound understanding of business, Bank standards, infrastructure, architecture and technology in related areas
• Delivers on assigned initiatives, with regular guidance / direction from management
• Generally reports to a Manager or Senior Manager
  
  

Experience & Education

• University degree
• Information security certification / accreditation an asset
• 2-3 years of relevant experience
