Department Overview

The Finance team supports the ESI (EveryDay Banking Savings and Investing) product group within the Canadian Personal Bank and is responsible for developing and delivering financial strategy and management support for the product area. This includes providing a wide range of analysis and decision support to ensure the business meets its strategic and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the financial reporting, forecasting, planning and strategic analysis of the EveryDay Banking group.
  • Work closely with TBSM to report on investment strategies and optimize outcomes.
  • Competitive analysis of business performance versus peers.
  • Lead out business casing and the management of strategic initiatives.
  • Manage expenses and lead efforts to identify opportunities to improve efficiency ratio.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and demanding environment that requires meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of implementing value‑added process improvements to increase shareholder value.
  • Promote a positive work environment; encourage teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis and advice.
Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling skills to provide high‑level financial analysis and value‑added insight to the business.
  • CPA/CA/CFA designation would be an asset.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities – ability to consolidate a large amount of information into clear, concise analysis to support and drive critical business decisions.
  • Work effectively with senior executives.
  • Highly motivated, proactive self‑starter with strong time‑management aptitude, analytical skills and the ability to be flexible amongst competing priorities and timelines.
  • Strong organizational awareness and the ability to balance the viewpoints of Finance and the Business Bank.
  • Understanding of the Personal Deposit business would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to build strong business relationships with stakeholders across various functions.
  • Superior ability to influence and motivate others, including those who do not have direct reporting relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate, solve problems and make decisions.
