Job Description

Our client, a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants offering professional accounting, auditing, and tax services to a wide range of businesses and individuals in the Greater Toronto Area, is currently seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join their expanding team.

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 9:00am - 5:00pm
Hybrid role. 3-4 days in office required.

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000.

Benefits: Health, Dental, Tuition reimbursement, Bonus Pay.

Vacation: 3 Weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across various industries, including performing Compilation, Review, and Audit engagements, and preparing accounting and tax returns, working papers, and financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain effective communication with team members regarding progress updates and ongoing issues.
• Develop and sustain positive client relationships through timely responses to requests and suggestions, both internally and externally.

Experience and Education:

• University degree or college diploma in accounting, with progress towards completing the CPA designation.
• CPA designation will be considered an asset.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in public accounting, focusing on audit and assurance.
• Previous experience in the preparation of compilation, review, and audit engagements.
• Familiarity with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
• Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNFPO).
• Knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) is an asset.
• Experience in drafting financial statements, including related note disclosures.
• Experience in preparing corporate tax returns.
• Strong client communication skills.
• Previous experience working with small businesses or privately owned, owner-managed entities.
• Experience with Caseware, Caseview/Jazz-IT, and Profile.
