CUPE 5791 Job Family N/A Category Academic Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina is seeking a full-time, term, Clinical Instructor: Field Education specific to the
University of Regina-North West College Bachelor of Social Work Cohort Program. This position will
be located in North Battleford or Meadow Lake, SK, and requires travel between North West College campuses in North Battleford and Meadow Lake. Travel reimbursement included.
The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples. Informed by the principles of Indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed. It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential. Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Work and working closely in collaboration with the Associate Dean-Undergraduate, Field Education Coordinator, Faculty Administrator, and the Practicum Placement Team, the Clinical Instructor is responsible for teaching and community engagement in the development, placement, coordination, and evaluation of undergraduate field education in the
North West College region.
Responsibilities include:- Identifying field placement opportunities, monitoring and auditing of appropriate placement capacity to ensure quality and evaluation of the student learning experience;
- Facilitating and integrating theory and practice in field education courses (SW 348/448) as well as other core BSW courses;
- Training and supporting agency supervisors and field liaisons in student supervision;
- Providing feedback, consultation, and input in the evaluation of practicum placements and student experiences.
Position Requirements Appointment will be at the Clinical Instructor Level lI or III , depending on qualifications. Minimum qualifications include a graduate social work degree ( MSW ), field education experience in social work at the university or college level, relevant human service teaching and practice experience, managerial and/or administrative experience, and active registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (or equivalent from another jurisdiction). Must possess valid driver’s licence to travel to between campuses and to Agencies within the Province. Collaborative and consultative work experience within post-secondary education is an asset. The salary will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
