POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools and machinery. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify and operate all shutoff valves and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication methods. Display knowledge or ability to learn about air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall, and trim repairs, as well as light bulb and A/C filter replacements. Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Repair landscaping and sprinkler systems. Demonstrate basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests according to standards, anticipate needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and show appreciation to guests. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive work relationships, support team goals, and communicate professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds independently; heavier tasks with assistance. Navigate stairs, ramps, ladders, and reach overhead or below the knees. Use computers to access work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus. No supervisory experience required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Driver's license is required.
