Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, financial governance, and operational oversight for the corporate finance function of a large multi-retail conglomerate with an extensive presence across UAE, MENA, and Asia. The role encompasses full ownership of Treasury, Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Record-to-Report (R2R), Group Insurance, and Finance Business Partnering, ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, and optimal working capital management. A critical focus will be the design, implementation, and transition to a Finance Shared Services Model, enabling streamlined processes, automation, and cost efficiencies across diverse business units.A key aspect of this mandate is the creation, enforcement, and continuous refinement of financial policies and frameworks, ensuring seamless alignment with the corporate Delegation of Authority (DOA) to establish clear approval hierarchies and mitigate financial risks. The role holder will drive enterprise-wide financial transformation, integrating advanced ERP solutions, AI-driven analytics, and predictive financial modeling to support executive decision-making and future-proof the organization’s financial infrastructure. The individual will be accountable for financial planning, statutory reporting, capital structuring, intercompany transactions, tax optimization, and regulatory compliance, working closely with C-suite executives, board members, and external financial stakeholders to align financial strategies with corporate growth objectives.
Accountability
Core Responsibilities:
The role holder will drive the formulation and execution of multi-regional financial strategies, ensuring robust governance structures and alignment with the DOA framework.
Including the implementation of financial policies and regulatory compliance.
Oversee capital allocation, financial risk management, cost and profit optimization, while standardizing financial processes and operations across multiple geographies.
Drive financial transformation initiatives across all units.
Manage enterprise-wide treasury and cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity, working capital, and cash utilization to support growth and stability.
Oversee FX exposure mitigation, cash pooling, intercompany funding, and debt optimization.
Ensure alignment between financial planning, tax structuring, and commercial strategies using cash flow forecasting and funding models.
Govern corporate banking relationships, capital structuring, and financing terms.
Oversee IFRS reporting and consolidation, ensuring integrity across jurisdictions.
Lead strategic planning through predictive insights and real-time dashboards.
Optimize consolidation workflows, ERP-driven reporting, and streamlined budgeting processes.
Provide commercial insights and margin growth support to leadership.
Oversee core P2P and O2C processes across finance, procurement, and commercial teams.
Optimize payment cycles, payables governance, and procurement efficiency to improve DPO and ensure contract compliance.
Enhance invoicing, AI-driven credit risk assessment, and collection to reduce DSO and improve efficiency.
Oversee automation tools and reconciliation systems for full control of cash cycles.
Ensure seamless integration of modern ERP systems with corporate finance.
Advance finance automation initiatives using RPA and real-time analytics.
Ensure ERP tax compliance integration, VAT and transfer pricing compliance, and cross-border structuring.
Maintain ERP governance, data security, and regulatory standards across all units.
Focus on controls, risk, and compliance in accordance with UAE tax regulations, IFRS, and corporate mandates.
Manage external audits and regulatory filings to ensure tax efficiency and minimize exposure.
Oversee cross-border tax compliance aligned with international standards.
Lead audit readiness and regulatory reviews with transparency and accuracy.
Advise C-suite on financial performance, investment, and cost control.
Develop finance function leadership, succession, and capabilities across teams.
Lead financial negotiations with banks, regulators, and investors in line with UAE financial regulations.
People Management:
The incumbent is responsible for setting clear objectives and performance targets in collaboration with team members, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals. This role involves actively mentoring, guiding, and providing direction to the team to cultivate skill development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. In addition to managing the finance function, the incumbent serves as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, providing strategic financial insights, risk assessments, and data-driven recommendations that influence key business decisions. The role requires a balance between hands-on leadership and executive advisory, ensuring that financial strategies are effectively communicated and aligned with broader corporate objectives. The incumbent applies structured performance management practices to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and drive the team toward achieving periodic KPIs. Through strategic oversight and regular feedback, the incumbent fosters a results-oriented environment, empowering the team to meet and exceed established benchmarks while supporting both individual and collective growth. By instilling a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and accountability, the incumbent ensures that the finance team operates at a high level, delivering value across the organization while maintaining strong partnerships with senior leadership.
