Job summary
A leading airline in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Navigation Engineer to conduct navigation-related technical studies, deliver fuel savings, and provide essential information to the Flight Crew. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a navigation environment and a solid educational background in engineering. Qualifications
- High School Certificate is required.
- A degree in Engineering is advantageous.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a navigation environment.
- Strong understanding of airspace and flight planning systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fuel and payload studies for future destinations.
- Analyze and publish safety-critical information for the flight crew.
- Perform technical assessments for destinations and alternates.
- Ensure all charting requirements are met.

Synopsis
To undertake navigation-related technical and commercial studies, deliver fuel savings, and provide navigation-related information to the Flight Crew. This may include escape procedures, performance-based navigation profiles, and assessing aerodromes for suitability.
- Conduct fuel and payload studies for future destinations.
- Analyze and publish safety-critical information such as terrain avoidance instructions for the flight crew.
- Perform technical assessments for destinations and alternates.
- Ensure all charting requirements are met to support the network.
- Participate in simulator sessions to validate specialized navigation procedures.
- Provide fuel value assessments for finance to determine annual fuel budgets.
- High School Certificate is required.
- A degree in Engineering is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of Aeronautical Information Services, Air Traffic Management, regulatory bodies (JAA/FAA), IATA, resources & processes, & ICAO Annexes & support Manuals.
- Strong understanding of airspace, air routes, flight planning systems, onboard navigation computers, and airport design criteria.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a navigation environment.
- Previous flight planning experience is an advantage.
