Job summary
A recruitment agency in Abu Dhabi is looking for an Accountant with over 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the UAE. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, supporting month-end closings, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and strong Excel skills. Contract duration is for up to 8 months in the utilities and energy services industry.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with UAE experience.
- Experience with VAT regulations and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense claims.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and filings.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Maintain proper documentation and financial records.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end closing, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, and assisting in financial reporting and audits.
