A growing organization in the UAE is looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with UAE tax regulations. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and will gain exposure to the full accounting lifecycle.
Maintain financial records: post day-to-day entries (invoices, receipts, journals) into the accounting system.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable: process vendor invoices, match purchase orders/GRNs, send customer invoices, monitor aging.
Perform bank and credit-card reconciliations on a regular basis; support cash flow tracking and petty-cash management.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes: prepare supporting schedules, reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledger.
Support VAT filings, ensure compliance with UAE tax and regulatory requirements, maintain proper documentation.
Collaborate with the finance team to prepare management reports and dashboards, providing basic analysis of variances and trends.
Ensure accurate fixed-asset register maintenance: record additions, disposals, depreciations as directed.
Assist in internal and external audit preparations: gather supporting documentation, respond to queries, maintain organised records.
Support other ad-hoc accounting tasks or projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Prior 1-3 years of accounting experience (entry-level to junior). Experience in the UAE/GCC region is an advantage.
Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel) is required.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping, general ledger, P&L, balance sheet and reconciliation concepts.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
Good communication skills in English; Arabic language skills would be beneficial.
