The Junior Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and execute day-to-day bookkeeping activities, financial transactions, and ensure accurate recording.
2. Prepare and analyze management accounts to facilitate informed decision-making.
3. Post monthly invoices and bank entries in the accounting software.
4. Perform bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliation.
5. Have knowledge of UAE VAT and filing returns.
6. Maintain accurate records of all sales, purchases, and accounting-related activities to achieve operational and strategic goals.
7. Work closely with the managers during the time of external audits.
8. Record financial transactions accurately and timely in the accounting software system.
9. Compile financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
10. Analyze financial data to provide insight into the financial health of the organization and make recommendations for improvement.
11. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns for organizations.
12. Assist in internal or external audits to ensure financial records are accurate and in compliance with regulations.
13. Prepare various financial reports for management, stakeholders, or government agencies.
14. Establish and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
15. Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry needs.

Qualifications:

1. BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
2. Relevant accounting certification will be preferred.

Experience:

1. Proven experience of 1 year as a Junior Accountant, ideally in a fast-moving customer-facing environment such as retail, F&B, trade, or services.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
2. Accuracy and attention to detail.
3. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
4. SAP knowledge and Arabic speaker is a plus.
