Job Title
Chief Accountant

Job Scope
The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily tasks and operations of the accounting department through monitoring, controlling, and analyzing accounting data, budgets, and financial statements, ensuring proper reconciliation of accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Technical and Operations

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and weekly cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS and report to the direct manager.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Follow up on account payables and receivables and related reconciliations.
• Liaise regularly with the direct manager and other internal stakeholders on all financial reporting activities and accounting inquiries.
• Prepare payroll and coordinate the monthly closing process.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing stock depreciation.
• Review, control, and validate tax declarations as per country laws and regulations.
• Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to ensure favorable terms for the company.
• Work with external and internal auditors, providing required information and documentation.
• Assess current practices and procedures, conducting periodic evaluations for cost reduction and system optimization.
• Ensure optimal utilization of the existing IT platform and participate in implementing new systems and processes.

• Lead and coach the team, fostering empowerment and ownership.
• Develop team capabilities and establish a solid succession plan.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and oversee development plans.

Position Requirements

3. Experience
4. At least 5-6 years of experience in a similar role
