Qualifications

  • Identify, mitigate and manage risks related to Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Investigate, analyse and interpret clinical data and act upon findings.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory bodies.
  • Provide support with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Skills

Conducting a system analysis of healthcare
Interpretation and application of CDC definitions
Auditing compliance to hand hygiene
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
IPC surveillance and risk identification
Report writing skills
Identification and investigation of outbreaks
Understanding of IPC principles
Data analysis and interpretation
Knowledge of statutory requirements
Experience in quality improvement methodology

Education

Nursing qualification (degree or diploma)
Formal IPC course / Post Graduate diploma in IPC
