Position: 30‑month fixed‑term contract based in Newlands, Cape Town. Focuses on securing South Africa’s Strategic Water Source Areas by implementing mechanisms across the Fynbos/Western Cape Landscape, Boland and Groot‑Winterhoek SWSAs. Supports WWF’s 2030 strategy, targeting Impact Target 1 (Secure and improve 5 million ha) and Target 2 (Benefit 5 million people).

The Project Manager will oversee land and biodiversity management projects, ecological infrastructure rehabilitation, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, SMME support, and community rights empowerment to ensure engaged communities are acknowledged and empowered.

• Project Management of disbursement contracts, including relationship management of implementing partners, translating implementer reports to WWF and funder formats, coordinating reporting dashboards, monitoring deliverables and deadlines, supporting contract development and legal approvals.
• Manage projects related to governance and capacity building with embedded catchmentI coordinators, sign‑off of field visits, liaison with coordinators, and share learning with partners such as CMAs and local government.
• Support partnership development and learning: lead logistical support for B‑GW SWSA Collective meetings, develop technical rehabilitation approaches for Boland and Groot‑Winterhoek SWSAs, manage financial tracking, M&E of projects, act as WWF’s representative on technical and capacity development working groups, and support the Secretariat for B‑GW Collective.
• Ensure organisational efficiency: manage embedded catchment coordinators, lead new project approval processes, coordinate organisational processes, support financial management of project budgets and fundraising, provide donor reporting and financial analysis, support fundraising proposals, contribute to WWF strategy and development, maintain vehicle and submit required information.

• Tertiary qualification in conservation, ecology, environmental management, hydrology or similar.
• Post‑graduate qualification, Project Management certification, or relevant experience preferred.
• 5–10 years relevant experience in invasive alien plant management and knowledge of the Western Cape water supply system.
• Minimum 5 years experience in project management and budget tracking.
• Experience improving office administration systems or processes.
• Excellent time management, planning, organization, logistics, communication, report writing and both written and verbal skills in English and at least another South African language.
• Relationship building skills, team working, advanced computer literacy (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, NetSuite).
• Valid driver’s license and commitment to WWF values and leadership commitment.
