Purpose of the position

Ensuring successful execution of assigned projects by working closely with the Director, Inland Petrochemical Operations and his team.

Qualifications/Experience

• BEng /BSc (Eng)
• Relevant professional engineering and project management registrations (e.g., SACPCMP and/or ECSA PrEng)
• Registered PMP will be an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years relevant project management experience in the petrochemical/energy industry.
• Experience on multi-discipline projects.
• Skilled in project planning.
• Skilled in project controls.
• Skilled in risk management.
• Skilled in contract management; NEC3 contracting framework experience will be an advantage.
• Skilled in team and organisational management.

Required Outputs and Responsibilities

• You will be the thought leader on project management activities and help set strategy for the project management discipline.
• Responsible for executing projects effectively and efficiently within budget, on-time, safely and to agreed quality.
• Control of planning and updating of various multi-discipline projects.
• Control of various scheduling and project planning.
• Cashflow forecasting and invoicing.
• Co-ordinate monthly progress meetings, internally and externally.
• Interfacing with project sponsors and facilitating monthly steering committee meetings.
• Resource planning.
• Follow prescribed governance processes and workflows but identify and propose improvements.
• Engage actively with key internal and external stakeholders to align project deliverables and comply with contractual commitments.
• Engage actively with external stakeholders and clients (existing and potential) to build jointly conducive trust networks.
