Job summary
A leading technological recruitment firm is seeking a Database & Platform Engineer in Somerset West, South Africa. This role focuses on managing and optimizing database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, strong SQL skills, and a background in cloud environments. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic Site Reliability Engineering team, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of database operations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience managing production database systems.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator/Engineer.
- Strong SQL experience with advanced query writing.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain relational and NoSQL databases.
- Optimize SQL queries and develop database-facing APIs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance.
