Based in Mogalakwena Mine, Mokopane, Limpopo, South Africa. The Field Engineer will provide field engineering services, primarily in the mining, metals, and heavy industries, at customer sites.

• Engineering
• Frequently, and pro-actively communicates and interfaces with customers’ engineering and technical teams to discuss Engineering capabilities, customer applications/requirements and coordinate project activities Possessed a broad knowledge of controls, power conversion, automation, data analytics and their application to the industries, equipment and customers that the company serves Demonstrates strong project management independently, or in cooperation with others, to diligently collect information to form cost estimates, labor estimates, contingency plans, materials and supply chain lead times, prioritization and resource availability. Proficient at collecting voice of the customer intelligence, and translating the information into actionable plans and results. Stays up to date on current technologies in the industry as well as emerging technologies and trends. Research and conduct competitive analysis, including pricing and product, of solutions offered by key competitors and customers in the local market. Assist in overall product strategies and product roadmaps based on local markets. Own and develop product requirements/ enhancements /functional specification by working with customers, field service engineering, sales, and other associated product stakeholders. Well-versed in problem-solving, RCA and project management principles from training and experience. Develops and maintains local service engineering processes and standards. Prioritizes respective engineering group’s projects, and manages category pipeline. Actively assist in promoting the company and Service Engineering, and selling to customers, partners, and others. Play a critical role in defining the overall product and growth strategy, by partnering with Business Development and Product Management. Coordinate and execute new product introductions with other functional departments through Stage Gate Process and/or the company commercialization process. Demonstrates proficiency in planning and managing departmental budgets and project costs. Execute work in effective and efficient ways to best serve customers and attain corporate regional and goals. • Instrumentation / Electrical Trade Test 3 years relevant management experience Project management experience Extensive and up to date knowledge in control systems, Field instruments & drives. Knowledge and experience in industrial and/or machine control theory. Experience with mining machine systems applications including but not limited to electric mining shovels, draglines, haul trucks, rotary blast hole drills, and hydraulic excavators. Demonstrated experience in managing the product lifecycle of systems and products. Demonstrated success with the ability to identify key customer requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications for multi-generational products. Direct experience in formulating, producing, and implementing product roadmaps. Good business acumen and ability to cascade business goals to engineering objectives. Advanced knowledge of Allan Bradley & ABB programmable logic controllers (PLC) and fault finding Advanced experience in SQL systems and reporting Advanced experience in HMI systems Advanced experience in communication protocol (Modbus, Canbus, Ethernet, etc.) Registered as Professional Engineer with ECSA or Registered as Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA is advantageous.

Leverageable experience with engineering tools and systems, including simulators, modeling, virtual prototyping and statistical analysis. Good ability to work with business ERP system. Strong knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office software. Ability to promote a positive company image to customers at all times. Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions. Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures. Must have ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine duties. Anticipates preventable problems before they occur. Overnight travel including international required.
