Job description
Overview

Click Learning is tackling South Africa's education crisis with smart, scalable solutions that make a real difference. We deliver interactive online programmes that boost literacy, numeracy, and digital skills for primary school learners in under-resourced communities. By combining technology with on-the-ground support, we're helping children build the foundations they need for long-term success and to build sustainable livelihoods. As a secondary outcome, we create jobs for previously unemployed youth to support in the schools and provide them with skills development to move onto better employment opportunities. We're growing—and we're looking for people who want their work to matter.

As the Procurement Officer at Click Learning, you will be essential in acquiring the technology and supplies needed to capacitate the computer labs in the schools in which we operate. We are looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with a passion for technology and a sharp eye for operational efficiency.

Your primary focus will be managing large-scale, cyclical technology procurement, including technology focused items such as devices, headphones, access points, and routers as well as other items such as safes, cameras and alarm systems to support our in-school implementation. You will also oversee smaller, day-to-day purchases and manage the entire procurement cycle, from processing requests to maintaining stock and sourcing cost-effective products.

This role requires dedication to managing supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and a knack for problem-solving, especially when procuring new products that may not yet be readily available in the country. You will work closely with our Infrastructure and Finance teams to ensure efficient purchasing, uphold quality standards, and effectively manage our inventory to help propel our mission forward.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the day-to-day procurement process in collaboration with the Finance team to ensure budget adherence and seamless operations.
  • Identify and vet new technologies and products, researching cost-effective solutions that meet business needs.
  • Manage supplier relationships by serving as the primary point of contact to ensure timely deliveries, efficient communication, and favorable terms.
  • Process purchase requisitions and place orders to fulfill forecasted needs for expansion and maintenance projects.
  • Prepare and maintain all procurement documentation, including purchase orders and contracts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Monitor and manage inventory and stock levels to ensure appropriate buffer stock is maintained and prevent shortages to minimise downtime.
What we are looking for
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operational procurement or purchasing role.
  • A good understanding of technology to support purchasing decisions.
  • Proficiency in financial administration, stock monitoring, and basic budget management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with expertise in creating and managing data sets, pivot tables, and formulas (e.g. VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF statements).
  • South African Citizens EE preferred.
Our ideal candidate brings the following attributes
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, organisational and analytical skills for evaluating products and data.
  • Effective communication skills for supplier and internal team collaboration.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address day-to-day challenges effectively.
  • Ethical standards for transparency and compliance in all procurement activities.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Why Join us?
  • Help build the team behind a national EdTech initiative supporting over 240,000 learners
  • Be part of a collaborative, impact-driven team
  • Shape hiring practices that are inclusive, community-focused, and values-led
  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with our hybrid work model (in office on MWF) at our fresh, modern space in Dunkeld West, Randburg. The setup may evolve as business needs change
  • Grow your career while making a meaningful difference
  • Potential for contract renewal based on department and individual performance, conduct, and secured funding
  • We offer market related salaries with employer contributions to pension and comprehensive death cover and LTE data to keep you connected while working
  • Generous annual leave (with a mandatory break over the December office closure) ensures our staff have ample time to rest and recharge
