The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of experience in a clothing production environment and possesses an NQF4 qualification in maintenance. An exciting opportunity has become available in our Maintenance department for a Sewing machine Mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain a range of industrial sewing machines allied sewing equipment
  • Set up and test run a range of industrial sewing machines allied sewing equipment
  • Keep maintenance records and update maintenance reports
  • Conduct running maintenance
  • Assist and coach learner mechanics
  • Maintain and collect technical data for machinery and equipment
  • Adhere and manage preventative maintenance program on minor and major tasks
  • Folder repair
  • Assist with other tasks within the maintenance department

Requirements

  • +/- 3-4 years’ experience in Industrial Sewing machine maintenance in clothing production environment
  • NQF4 Qualification in repairs and maintenance sewing machine or equivalent qualification (advantageous)
  • Have the ability to work in a team and additional hours as requested
  • Must be able to work in a pressurized environment
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must have a target driven and quick turnaround approach
